We are where?
It has been a crazy month! It has been non-stop meetings, pick up this, where can I get this, what the hell is this, omg I need this!! But I ruv it so much. So let me describe the space. The building was buit in the early 1900's, it still has it's original brick walls and wood flooring....amazing. We walked in and the space felt so right, it has character, charm and a great vibe. What is the area like? The salon is located right across from the new Woodward's development (700 condo units), which is also the future home of the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts. Plus we are surrounded by our wonderful neighbours Nouvelle Nouvelle, Revel Room, Bruce Eyewear, La Casita and many more! Enough talk here are some pics of the place pre-reno's.

Finally Dean is opening his own salon!
Stuart Dean Salon is a hair salon established in 2008 by Dean Stuart Ferguson, located in the heart of Vancouver, B.C.'s historical and architectural neighbourhood of Gaston. The salon's mission is to focus on all elements of hair. We strive for excellence, setting ourselves apart through education, style and customer service. We are confident that every client leaves with an experience second to none.
PHILOSPHY
At Stuart Dean Salon every stylist uses their experience, knowledge and up to the minute training to create an experience and style that not only meets but exceeds the customer’s expectations. Our secondary goal is to build a team of stylists who believe in and are committed to the vision of the salon and those who aspire to take their careers to the next level.
VISION
Stuart Dean Salon’s vision is not only to create a professional environment but also to bring its collective philosophy, passion, creativity and high standards in every aspect of education, experience, style and design to people in the salon. It is not only exceptional service Stuart Dean Salon strives for but also to instill a positive work environment and culture.
ABOUT DEAN STUART FERGUSON
Dean has been a stylist and colour technician for nine years. Upon graduating at Marvel College of Hair and Esthetics he began his career with Axis Hair Salon. He completed the Axis Apprenticeship Program and with determination, hard work and natural talent, he soon became a master stylist and educator for the salon. Soon thereafter, Dean began teaching the classic Vidal Sassoon philosophy of hair through the Hair Art Design Program at John Casablancas Institute of Applied Arts. Throughout the years, Dean has been involved in countless charity fashion shows, Vancouver Fashion Week, as well as contributing to the Annual Leone Fashion Show as lead stylist. In order to maintain and constantly upgrade his education, Dean has attended events such as the Joico Symposium, Tony and Guy guest artists platform and the Aveda Congress.
Having been inspired by global trends in art, style and design from travelling to major cities in Canada, the USA and Europe in combination with years of education and training; Dean is considered to be one of Vancouver's top stylists specializing in blonding, avant garde and celebrity trends.
